Charles‑Guillaume Méla
Trained at the Geneva Conservatory, where I obtained my diploma with honours, I then turned to contemporary music before becoming passionate about jazz, particularly through the workshops of the great Barry Harris. Today a concert pianist and Qualiopi-certified educator based in Paris, I teach piano to students of all ages and levels – from private lessons to jazz workshops and musical coaching. My philosophy is simple: pleasure and curiosity are the keys to lasting progress for both the beginner and the advanced musician.
Over the years, I’ve had the chance to be invited to exceptional venues such as the Menuhin Academy in Rolle, the Pablo Casals Festival in Prades, as well as private foundations in Switzerland. Experiences ranging from classical stages to intimate jazz clubs have fostered an eclectic vision of music. They have taught me that a living pedagogy draws as much from the great repertoire as from improvisation and the immediate sharing with an audience.
This dual classical/jazz culture and my commitment to teaching inspire a tailor‑made approach for every student. I pay special attention to sound quality and collaborate with master workshops to keep instruments in top condition. Deeply aware of the importance of cultural accessibility, I believe that art has the power to transform lives. By choosing to study piano with me, you join a journey that combines artistic excellence, humanity and openness.
